The next day we returned to Lviv. On our way back to Lviv we stopped at the most popular Ukrainian ski resort – Bukovel. It is always very active and crowded in winter: music is everywhere, there are many ski instructors everywhere, snow cannons work everywhere, cafes and other catering establishments are packed with hungry skiers.
Our next points of interest were the museums of Verkhovyna. The first museum was the Museum of Music by Roman Kumlyk (a virtuoso musician who could play 50 musical instruments). It is a museum not only of music, but also the museum ofHutsul region ethnography. Hutsul clothing, household items and musical instruments are stored here.
The next morning we were joined the tour bus in the centre of Lviv and headed to the Carpathians. First we visited the Museum of Hutsul and Pokuttya region in Kolomyia. Here household items of the inhabitants of the Hutsul region were collected, like: elegant clothes, items carved from wood, tools, models of the interior of Hutsul houses and much more interesting exhibits.
We went to celebrate the New Year in the Carpathians to enjoy the beauty of the Carpathian Mountains, to plunge into the cozy Hutsul atmosphere. Western Ukraine is, as always, hospitable and “warm”, despite the winter frosts.
